Giovanni Battista Belzoni Born November 15 1778 Initiated Raised Died December 3, 1823 Giovanni Battista Belzoni was born on November 15 1778. Belzoni was a famed archeologist, but had a large physique which allowed him to earn a living with the English circuses and was called "The Great Belzoni". In 1818 Belzoni became the first person to penetrate the second pyramid of Giza. Belzoni is believed to be a member of Emulation Lodge in London, and Bedford Lodge No. 183, and has been referenced in writings that he also received the degree of Knight Templar. Brother Belzoni was called from labor on December 3, 1823.
